Our future?

Future Cities

For one of my current projects I'm examining urban expansion and specifically how our love affair with the automobile has influenced that expansion. I found numerous gems under these topics. This 1958 Disney film shows how some futurists can be incredibly intuitive on one hand and incredibly blind on the other. Featured are punch card GPS, night vision, urban sprawl, modern RVs, and road trains (kind of). I love the total disregard shown to the horrible effects of man's "progress to the perfect future" shown in this video. Its a little window into some of the minds that have formed the world we live in today.
The Internet.

Another great video from the same site. I always thought that internet commerce was a big miraculous technological accident. Apparently I was wrong. There were people trying to figure this system out since 1968. Check out those sweet flat screens! I'd love to see the rest of this video if anyone can find it, I haven't been able to yet.
